At MediaMarkt, many women work in leadership roles within an environment that is constantly evolving. Commercial, results-driven and fast-paced. It is an environment where visible leadership, clear decision-making and decisiveness are important. At the same time, it is also an environment where you work with people, emotions, expectations and pressure every day.
In conversations with women leaders at MediaMarkt, I often hear the same tension: How do I stay true to myself in a role where pace and targets take the lead? How do I provide direction without becoming too hard? How do I remain credible, even when I have doubts or do not yet have all the answers?
The women’s leadership programme at MediaMarkt is part of the WIN! programme. It supports talented women in further strengthening their leadership and stepping into their role with greater visibility and confidence. Following a successful first programme, we are now rolling out a second one. Because it works. Because there is a need for continuation. And because the impact of the first programme shows that this remains an important topic, especially in an organisation where leaders are asked to do a great deal every day.

Many women leaders at MediaMarkt are highly skilled at connecting with others, adapting and sensing what is needed. This is a strength, but it can also become a pitfall. In this programme, we explore how to continue using that sensitivity without putting yourself second. At the same time, we create space for clarity, setting boundaries, making decisions and encouraging ownership.
We work with relatable, real-life situations: difficult conversations, feedback you keep postponing, and expectations that remain unspoken. We practise, reflect and continuously translate the insights back into the workplace. What will you do differently tomorrow? What does this situation require from you as a leader?
What makes this programme within WIN! distinctive is the combination of personal development and direct practical application. It is not about an idealised image of leadership, but about your leadership, in your own context, with everything that comes with it.
Women’s leadership at MediaMarkt does not mean being less decisive. It means making more conscious choices. Knowing when to accelerate and when to slow down. When to create space and when to provide direction.
This second programme builds on the insights and experiences of the first. With new participants, new situations and the same core: standing stronger, communicating more clearly and leading with greater confidence. Not by becoming someone else, but by taking yourself and your role more seriously.
And that is exactly what makes a difference in an organisation like MediaMarkt.
At MediaMarkt, WIN! stands for Women Inclusion Network. The programme was created to better support women leaders, particularly because many women, both at the head office and in stores, work in an environment that is still often shaped by male norms and unwritten rules. WIN! is about recognition, building a network and becoming stronger in your own leadership style.
Moovs was asked to help shape WIN! by creating workshops that directly reflect the situations women encounter in their daily work: not making yourself smaller, protecting your boundaries, influencing others naturally, navigating unwritten rules, and making choices that align with your energy and rhythm.

After two successful editions, MediaMarkt will launch the third WIN! edition for its head office in early 2026. We are building on what became clear during earlier sessions: participants benefit most from practising, using concrete examples and sharing experiences with women facing similar situations. The buddy system also provides strong support in helping participants retain and apply insights between workshops.
This edition therefore consists of three impactful four-hour workshops, structured to move from awareness to application and deeper reflection.
In Workshop 1, we explore the seven pitfalls of women’s leadership, based on patterns identified by Sabine van Ditzhuijzen through interviews with 70 women in leadership positions. We make these patterns visible because they often unconsciously affect impact and visibility. Participants recognise their own reflexes, explore what holds them back or makes them play small, and practise transforming these patterns into strengths in situations such as meetings, feedback conversations and decision-making moments.
Workshop 2 focuses on self-care as a leadership tool. Not as an “extra”, but as a prerequisite for clarity, calm and effective action. We work with energy management, including the menstrual cycle and hormones, using the recurring monthly cycle as a leadership tool. Not simply as something that gets in the way, but as a source of strength. We also translate these insights into behaviour during challenging conversations and the pressure of daily work.
We use a professional role-play actor and participants’ own cases to do this. Each participant leaves with one concrete step they will take differently from the next day onward, aligned with their leadership style and energy.
Workshop 3 is the Vision Quest: finding focus and direction in nature. This format was chosen deliberately, as participants expressed a need for time away from emails, stimuli and expectations. Stepping away from the daily environment creates more room for depth and clarity. Participants explore what gives them energy, what holds them back and which choices they want to make. They then translate this into a personal vision document with initial concrete steps.
Between workshops, participants keep each other focused through the buddy system, using reflection and small assignments. This ensures that WIN! does not remain a positive feeling from the day itself, but translates insights into behaviour that becomes genuinely visible in the workplace.
This is exactly what Moovs believes in: strengthening women’s leadership through recognition and connection, but above all through action. Making visible what is happening, practising what feels challenging, and building a leadership style that feels right for you while working within the dynamics of MediaMarkt.
You take the first step, we inspire the next.
